With the next Football World Cup already getting closer (starting in June 2026 and hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico), discussions around FIFA and corruption are becoming louder again.
FIFA is the organization behind the Football World Cup, but over the years it has repeatedly been linked to bribery, suspicious World Cup host selections, money laundering, and secret payments, including around the 2006 World Cup in Germany and the tournament in Qatar.
This dialogue is about that strange contradiction many fans feel: criticizing the system… while still loving football.
