Cem: Mit allem, Bruder. Mit kommt immer im Dativ.
Max: Echt jetzt? ⍟ Sogar hier im Dönerladen krieg ich Grammatikunterricht?
Cem: Kostenlos, inklusive Soße. Also: mit allem?
Max: Ja, ja, mit allem. Man lernt nie aus. ⍟

Cem: Scharf?
Max: Ein bisschen. Nicht so, dass ich’s morgen noch bereue.
Cem: Alles klar. Salat, Tomaten, Zwiebeln, Rotkraut, Weißkraut?

Cem: Verstanden. Wir wollen ja keine Kündigungen provozieren.

Max: Welche Soße empfiehlst du?
Cem: Klassisch: Knoblauch und Kräuter. Scharf mach ich extra, dann kannst du’s dosieren.
Max: Perfekt. Und Brot schön knusprig, wenn’s geht.
Cem: Geht immer. Frisch vom Grill.

Max: Sag mal, wie viele Leute sagen eigentlich noch „mit alles“?
Cem: Mehr, als mir lieb ist. Aber keine Sorge, du bist jetzt auf der richtigen Seite der Geschichte.
Max: Sehr beruhigend.

Cem: So, fertig. Macht sechs Euro fünfzig.
Max: Passt so. ⍟ Danke dir.

⍟ Nächster bitte! means “next, please,” used to call the next person in line in shops or food places, and it is neutral spoken German.

⍟ Echt jetzt? means “seriously?” used to show surprise or disbelief in everyday conversations, and it is informal spoken German.

⍟ Man lernt nie aus. means “you never stop learning,” used as a light comment when you realize something new, and it is neutral spoken German.

⍟ Klingt gut. means “sounds good,” used for quick agreement to a suggestion or plan, and it is neutral spoken German.

⍟ Passt so. means “keep the change” or “that is fine,” used when paying and you do not want any change back, and it is everyday spoken German that is informal to neutral.

Translation

Cem: Chicken or veal?
Max: Chicken. And uh… with everything.
Cem: With allem, brother. Mit always takes the dative.
Max: Seriously? Even here at the kebab shop I’m getting a grammar lesson?

Max: A little. Not so much that I’ll regret it tomorrow.

Cem: Classic: garlic and herbs. I’ll make the spicy separately so you can control how much you use.
